|Daisy scouts are 5 and 6 year old girls, or girls in kindergarten and 1stgrade. (Although 1st graders are more typically Brownies.)|
Daisy Scouting is the newest age level in the GSUSA. It was introduced in the 1980s. Daisies gets its name from the founder of the Girl Scout movement, Juliette Gordon Low, whose nickname was Daisy.
Daisies wear a special Girl Scout pin that depicts a daisy flower inside a trefoil shape. They may also wear a sky blue tunic and other uniform items including shirts, shorts, socks and hair pieces. All items are optional, although the little girls do enjoy wearing their tunic to display their earned awards and participation patches.
